health level up π
powered by adhd πͺ
ok so this past month, i have been really grateful for my health tracking databases from my adhd dash in Notion. i had to have a minor procedure (everythingβs fine) at a new doctor and i quickly realized how much anxiety popped up over having to get my records transferred over, and filling out new paperwork, and how it would have been SO MUCH EASIER and less overwhelming if i had been keeping track of my health stuff for longer.
i only just started keeping a database of records: appointment notes, health updates, medication notes, etc when i started my adhd self care dash a few years ago. i realized it was gonna be important for me to take some good notes while i was learning how to manage my adhd, because there is no way in hell iβd be able to remember what happened, what i was doing, things i wanted to bring up with the doctor, and whatever the doctor suggested i do in between appointments.
(also, thereβs no reason for us to try to put this all on our brains to remember! write that shit down! free up your brain space for more creative brain adventures!) π
what started out just as a way to help manage my adhd, turned into a way to manage my overall health and wellbeing. and as someone with a long history of mental health, chronic pain & fatigue - this was HUGE for me. i didnβt realize how much i needed it until i started using it.
iβve got a 6-month follow up doctor appointment later today, and i have way less anxiety about it because i know where all my notes are from the last 6 months and iβve βfavoritedβ the page for this appointment so itβs easy to access in my side-bar when i get there. iβm not gonna forget to ask any qβs, cuz iβve got them written down on the page as βto-doβs.β iβm going into this appointment hella empowered to take care of my health. and thatβs a really cool feeling.
